Connect
This guide provides the steps to connect a Dayforce account to Zluri
Prerequisites
- System administrator access to the Dayforce account, to create a role and a Web Services user.
- Your Dayforce client namespace and API host. Your Dayforce administrator or Dayforce account team can confirm both.
Step 1: Create a Role for the Web Services User in Dayforce
- Log in to the Dayforce account as a system administrator.
- Create a new role for the integration, for example Zluri Integration.
- Under Features, enable HCM Anywhere > Web Services > Read Data.
- Under Web Services Field-Level Access, enable RESTful Services > Human Resources > Employee and these employee fields: XRefCode, Contacts, EmploymentStatuses, EmploymentTypes, WorkAssignments, EmployeeManagers, SSOAccounts, EmployeeRole, DocumentManagementSecurityGroups and ClockDeviceGroups.
- Under Authorizations, allow read access to Employee Profile > Security Settings > Roles, User Document Security, Clock Device Groups, Employee Status and Contact Information (Business).
- Do not grant field-level access to SocialSecurityNumber, BirthDate or salary fields. Zluri does not use them.
- Save the role.
Step 2: Create the Web Services User in Dayforce
- Navigate to System Admin > User.
- Create a dedicated user for the integration.
- Assign the role from Step 1 and set it as the user's default role.
- Under Location Access, grant the top-level organization (for example Corporate), so that every employee is visible to the integration. Employees outside the user's location access are not synced.
- Set a password for the user.
- Copy and securely store the username and password.
Step 3: Collect the Connection Details
- Note the API host of your Dayforce environment, for example
www.dayforcehcm.com. Use the host only, withouthttps://or a path. - Note your client namespace, the company identifier used for your Dayforce tenant.
Step 4: Begin the Integration in Zluri
- Log in to the Zluri dashboard.
- Open the Dayforce Integration page.
- Select Connect Integration or Connect another instance if an existing connection is already configured.
Step 5: Review and Add Scopes
- Review the required scopes displayed for the integration: Read Employees and Read Employee Details.
- Add additional scopes as needed for custom use cases or advanced access.
Authorization Options
Self-Authorization
- Proceed directly to Step 6 to complete authorization.
Co-worker Authorization
- Enter a co-worker's details to share the access request.
- Zluri sends an invite email or link containing a unique Connect Code.
- The co-worker can use the code to approve and complete the connection setup.
Step 6: Authorize the Connection
- Depending on the authorization method (self or co-worker), enter the connection details.
- Enter the API host in the Dayforce API Host field, for example
www.dayforcehcm.com. - Enter
apiin the API Path Prefix field. - Enter your client namespace in the Client Namespace field.
- Enter the username from Step 2 in the Web Services Username field.
